 Ahead of the concluding ceremony of the year-long sesquicentennial 
celebrations of the Bombay High Court, Union Minister of State for 
Communications and Information Technology Milind Deora today released a 
special postal cover. 
 Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court Mohit Shah, Justices S A 
Bobade, D Y Chandrachud, B R Gavai and several other judges and senior 
lawyers were present at the function. 
 The Bombay High Court was established in 1862 and to mark completion
 of 150 years, the special postal cover and stamps were released today. 
 On a lighter vein, Chief Justice Shah said while other institutions 
would have declared a holiday marking their 150th year anniversary, the 
Bombay High Court would be functioning towards disposing of petitions. 
 Marking the celebrations, on August 15, an exhibition will be 
inaugurated by Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan in the central court 
hall. 
 The exhibition, to remain open till August 16, will display 
important artifacts, documents and articles of historical significance. 
 On August 18, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would preside over the 
last day of celebrations at the National Centre for Performing Arts 
(NCPA) in south Mumbai. 
 The other dignitaries who would grace the occasion include 
Maharashtra Governor K Sankaranarayanan, Chief Minister Prithviraj 
Chavan and Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid.
