Garden of Five Senses honoured

Dear Comrades,

A special cover was released by the Indian Postal Department on the Garden of Five Senses, a 22-acre marvel of Delhi Tourism in the environs of the historic Qutub Minar.

“Aravali”

The cover was released as part of a two-day philatelic exhibition organised by India Post which concluded at the National Rail Museum here over the weekend.

Held at a venue highly popular among children, the philatelic exhibition, titled “Aravali – a series of stamps”, witnessed participation by 30 schools. Various activities like painting on the theme ‘100 years of New Delhi', quiz contests and a philately show were organised as part of this informative exhibition. At the closing ceremony, IGNOU Vic-Chancellor M. Aslam, and Delhi Tourism Managing Director G.G. Saxena gave away the prizes to the winners in the painting competition.

He said the Garden of Five Senses is the latest addition to Delhi's cultural circuit.

This unique garden with all its natural and man-made surroundings has added a new dimension to life in Delhi, especially as it also hosts a variety of programmes such as the Annual Garden Tourism Festivals, the Dandiya Masti Festival, cultural evenings, and qawwali and mushaira programmes.
