Udupi, 18 September 2011: The staffs that are rendering the Postal services in villages but are not in the department are to be included into the department and are to be provided with all the facilities that are being provided to the Postal staff. Even the Supreme Court has given its opinion on this, urged A.C.M. Kareem – President of 28th All India Railway Mail Service (RMS) and Motor Mail Service (MMS) Employees Union Karnataka circle conference. The conference was held in Bannanje Narayanaguru Auditorium on Sunday.
Postal department is planning to adopt the suggestions from Mackenzie. As per these suggestions half of the post offices in the country and one third of the Railway postal service will be getting cancelled. The position of Sorting-Postman will not exist at all. Moreover, these suggestions violate the agreement made with the department. Therefore these Mackenzie suggestions are to be dropped, he urged.

People have trust in Postal department more than the private organizations. Therefore wherever there is a need in the country the Post Offices has to be opened and the necessary staff has to be appointed for it immediately, he urged. The pension scheme implemented by the Postal department in 2004 has to be cancelled. This pension scheme of the Postal employees depends on the uncertain stock market. There is strong opposition for this scheme. Therefore this scheme has to be cancelled and old scheme has to be implemented, Kareem urged the government.
All the private companies – factories are to be made government undertaking and the profit earned from this has to be utilized for the development of the country. To eliminate the corruption the strong Lokpal bill has to be implemented, he opinioned. The works undertaken by the former Lokayukta Santhosh Hegde should be a role model to other states of the country, he said.

Suresh, Karnataka Circle Chief Secretary P. Kamalesh, Udupi Social Worker K. Krishnamurthy Acharya were the Chief Guests of the program.
