SRINAGAR, Nov 1:
Chief Post Master General, J&K State John Samuel said that as a part of
initiatives to improve postal services in the State, a new service “Home
Delivery of Parcel upto 8 pm”’ will be launched from today.
Inaugurating the service today, Samuel hoped this will revolutionize the postal services in Srinagar and will benefit the people in a big way. He further said that Department of Post witnessed more than 10 percent increase in the parcel business particularly in Kashmir and Ladakh regions. He announced opening up of Parcel Booking Centers in Lal Chowk, Srinagar and Karan Nagar Post Offices apart from Srinagar General Post Office shortly.
Speaking about the Festive Discount on sale of India Post Gold Coins, Samuel said that India Post Gold coin Service is available at Srinagar GPO and many other sale outlets.
The coins are of
0.5 gm, 1 gm, 2 gm, 5 gm, 8 gm, 10 gm, 20 gm and 50 gm, 7 percent special
discount will be provided to the consumers on the sale of gold coins during
this festive season from November 01 to December 31, 2012.
