Mescom-India Pos revive bill payment system at post offices

MANGALORE: Waiting for long queues to pay your electricity bills may once again be a thing of the past. Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (Mescom) Limited on Thursday renewed its earlier arrangement with India Post that enables its customers to pay their bill at select post office counters in the city. Senior officials from Mescom and those of India post from Puttur, Shimoga, Chikmagalur, Udupi, and Mangalore signed the MoU here.
The new arrangement comes in to effect in all post offices that have e-payment facility in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Shimoga and Chikmagalur that comes under jurisdiction of Mescom from July 15. Electricity bill of Rs 1,000 and less will be accepted at the post offices on or before the pay-by-date and accepted in full and there is no provision for part payment, a press release from Mescom here states and urged its customers to avail this facility.
