Dhubri: The guard of Gauripur post office in Dhubri district was injured when two gunmen opened fire in a bid to rob the post office on Tuesday evening, police said. The assailants entered the post office around 6.30 pm when postmaster Rabindra Kumar Biswas was counting the day's collection.
They came on the pretext of depositing money but opened fire soon after. They fled after injuring guard Bengaram Rai, 55. Rai was admitted to Dhubri Civil Hospital. Dhubri ASP Indranil Barua reached spot and a search was launched to nab the culprits.
