Guwahati, Nov 22 : Assam Postal Circle is going to organize the 26th All India Postal Badminton Tournament at SAI sports Complex, Paltan Bazar, Guwahati from tomorrow. This year 19 postal circles are participating in the individual and the team events in the five day meet.
Addressing a press conference at Meghdoot Bhavan, Monojit Kumar, Chief Postmaster General, Assam, told that some national level, international level players are participating in the tournament. Some of them are M K Sumra, Vaishali Baria, Antiny K Jacob, S S Bhagwat, Kumar Sandeep, Manmeet Singh, Pizza Bharali, Kristi Das.
Last edition of the tournament was held in Shillong. Assam Postal Circle team has been consistently performing well in this tournament. The team boasts of best players of the state.
In the last tournament, Assam team won Mens team event, Women doubles event and came second in Women’s team event and Women singles event. Assam team consists of some of the international players like Kristi Das who has represented the country in events played in Indonesia and Thailand.
