“The tournament will give chance to the staff members of the department to participate in different games,” Post Master General J&K Circle John Samuel told reporters here.
He said the tournament would be inaugurated by Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Dr Farooq Abdullah. It will conclude on November 2.
Samuel said the Department was hosting, a national level tournament after 29 years in Kashmir.

Atleast 183 athletes including 21 women athletes will participate in 32 competitions. From J&K circle atleast 28 athletes are expected in the tournament.
The main events include the run include 100m, 200m, 400m, 500m 800m, 1500m, 1000m races , Hurdles, Javelin Throw, Hammer Throw, Long Jump, High Jump, etc.
Srinagar, Oct 29: The Department of Post Jammu and Kashmir is hosting 26th All India Postal Athletic Meet at Bakshi Stadium here from Monday.

Samuel said the Department was hosting, a national level tournament after 29 years in Kashmir.
“Earlier it was in 1982 when a national level event was organized by the department in Srinagar”, he said.
Teams from Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Haryana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Orrisa,
Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and the hosts J&K are participating in the event.
