Department of Posts has started it's SMS service related to Postal Life Insurance and Rural Postal Life Insurance Scheme. To make it's after sales service better one, it has started sending SMSs to the PLI and RPLI insurant as a new step towards making the insurant aware of their policies. It will remind them to deposit their premium regularly. Today several number of insurants have received SMS to intimate to deposit their premium for the month of August. Department has more plans to extent the same to aware the insurants in the time of the maturity of their policies too.
To get the said SMS facility, the insurant has to inform his/her mobile number to the PLI and RPLI section of the concerned Division alongwith their Policy No. so that the mobile number can be entered in the web based software to enable it to send the SMS to the Policy Holder.
