letter No. A-34012/6/2012-DE communicated by Circle Office, Bhubaneswar vide letter No. RE/30-23/2012
dated 14.06.2012, applications in enclosed format from willing and eligible
candidates are invited latest by 20.06.2012.

Eligibility Criteria: As
per the revised recruitment rules notified in No. 37-47/2010-SPB-I dated
03.11.2011, 50% of the PA/SA in Post Offices and Mail Offices are to be filled
up by promotion through a Limited Departmental Competitive Examination. The following
categories of officials are eligible for the above LGO examination.
1.
Postman/Mail Guard in the Pay Band-1 of
Rs 5200-20200+Grade Pay of Rs 2000 of the concerned unit/division with 3 years
of regular service in the grade.
2.
Multi Tasking Staff in the pay band-1 of
Rs 5200-20200+Grade Pay of Rs 1800 of the concerned unit/division with 5 years
of regular service in the grade
including any regular service put in the erstwhile Group D post on regular
basis.
Note:
For the purpose of computing minimum regular service, the service rendered on
regular basis as on 01.01.2012 is to be taken as cut off date.

No. of Chances: As
per the Staff Branch order No. 60-10/2011-SPB.I dated 26.07.2011, the number of
chances prescribed for General Category is 8. In respect of SC/ST category, the
number of chances is 10 and in case any SC/ST is appointed on the basis of
his/her 9th or 10th chance, he/she shall be appointed
against the vacancy for SC/ST as the case may be irrespective of his/her merit
in the examination.
Venue for conducting the Examination: The
Examination will be conducted at all Circle/Regional Headquarters and the
candidates have to appear from the respective centres of their Circle only and
under no circumstances, they can not be permitted to appear from other Circle
Centres. The Applications received at the Outsourced Agency directly i.e
without being enrooted through the proper channel will not be entertained.
Vacancies: Unfilled
vacancy position in PA/SA/PA(CO) cadre for the recruitment year 2012 for
promotion of LGOs to PA/SA/PA(CO)Cadre (For Departmental/Promotional quota) as
approved by the Circle Office, Bhubaneswar vide Letter No. RE/6-12/2012 dated
31.05.2012 is furnished in the annexure II to this letter.
This issues with the approval of
competent authority and contents of this letter be brought to the notice of all
concerned without fail.
