Itanagar, May 9 (PTI) The Arunachal Pradesh unit of
All India Postal Employees' Union (AIPEU) has expressed strong
resentment on the repeated disturbances caused to halt the
construction of Head Post Office cum Director's office
building here.
The long pending 'dream' project of the postal
department has been stalled and unnecessarily delayed due to
claims of some persons that they have got allotments within
the boundary wall of the land allotted to the department, the
union lamented in a communiqué today.
"It is unbecoming of a civilised society to disturb
like this and instead of verbal claims should come up with
proper documents," the AIPEU said.
The postal staffers, be it the engineers and other
staff are also being unnecessarily threatened for no fault of
theirs, it rued.
The building, if completed would facilitate better and
improved services to the people of the state besides giving
better facilities to postal staff.
Further, calling for cooperation from all civil
societies and right thinking individuals on the matter, the
union threatened to take agitation recourse if the situation
continues.
