According to the Central government ministries and state governments, the post offices can be the best medium deliver social security schemes like the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
The public sector banks are looking for the retail scheme of loan products, mutual funds and other financial products, whereas the logistics sector is considering to provide services to semi-urban and rural areas for consumers.
Minister of Communications and Information Technology Kapil Sibal said, “This will help the department of posts to develop the future business model and its integration with the technological architecture of India.”
